"IT" is that quality possessed by some which draws all others with its magnetic force. With "IT" you win all men if you are a woman—all women if you are a man. "IT" can be a quality of the mind as well as a physical attraction.
Self-confidence and indifference whether you are pleasing or not—and something in you that gives the impression that you are not at all cold. That's "IT".

Uh Ohh..The Holidays Are Coming

..Its November 10th already and Christmas is on its way, and by the shape this country is in I don't think we'll be seeing very many Coach bags under the tree this year. Now is a time for bargain hunting and creativity. By creativity I mean pull out your sewing machine and knitting needles because we'll be needing them for the next few months. Lately clothes have been way over priced.($32.00 for a sweater from Mandees!) Its cheaper to make your clothes and knit your scarfs for this winter. Also bargain hunting! Shop the internet and poke around inexpensive department stores for what you need, and recycle what you own already to make it new and interesting again. Thats the only advice I can offer for now, and if you do want to splurge, pick one expensive thing you absolutely love. All because money is a little scarce doesn't mean you have to cut yourself off entirely from a beautiful new bag or pair of shoes. Just don't splurge too much!

Its not only for little kids..Look the best on Halloween. Have the best costume with the best makeup..It only comes once a year so enjoy it!!

It Girls Beauty Experiment!

I need a new shampoo for my hair. I've tried everything in the drugstores but nothing seems to work! I have very fine hair and I've been trying all different volumizing shampoos but have gotten no great results yet.I have to switch to trying the really expensive stuff. Here is my experiment. I'm going to Sephora and I'm going to try out a few shampoos that have been all over the magazines. Fred Fakkai, Phyto, and Biolage. I probably won't buy them all at once because their so expensive! The experiment will probably take a week or two. I need to find the perfect volumizing shampoo for fine hair. If you have any suggestions I'd greatly aprreciate them. I'm so fed up with my hair! I've heard a lot about that Phyto shampoo but does it really work that well? or is it just a rip off? I think that shampoo is like $24.00 a bottle! So I really want to make sure it works before buying it...P.S. I will write more entries! Its been a busy fall, lol.. Talk to ya soon!

Snow Bunny!

Its already starting to get cold out there! Which means that we have to start getting ready for winter! Winter is the most elongated season of the year! at least 5 months long. I get so frustrated because I get stuck in this groove of wearing sweat pants and sweat shirts all season long! This year I want to make a change. By that I mean look a lot cuter..Like a snow bunny! I think a lot of women dread the winter. It takes a toll on your skin, makes your hair frizzy, and bums all of us out! These clothes will be just the thing to brighten up those dark winter days, and fill you with enthusiasm and energy to look good! Singin in the Rain...

I forgot that theres so much rainy weather in the fall. Finding something comfortable to wear that looks good for rainy weather can be a challenge..I've seen some rain boots but they all look so ugly in my opinion. You know those bright colored rain boots that are rubbery looking.. I wouldn't mind a pair of those in a solid color but I think the prints are too much..Then I see people wearing the bright colored rain boots with their jeans or leggings. They don't look good with jeans! When you go to work on a rainy day wear your rain boots but bring a pair of shoes to change in to when you get there. That way you won't have to wear those glocky rain boots all day long. Those are strictly for outer wear not inner wear. Thats my opinion though..Finding a good raincoat can be hard too, unless its a designer one like this burberry trench on top. Rain boots are by Hunter,"Polermo" Umbrella.

2008 VMA's: Lots of Interesting Events..

Okay, I didn't watch the VMA's last night but from seeing the headlines of the highlights of the show, it looked interesting. Britney is back in the game again as an It Girl which I am very excited about.. as opposed to her VMA disaster last year..She looked great, like a lady..Then Christina! I was looking at comments people wrote on her new look, you either love it or you hate apparently, theres no in between, lol. I don't think she looked terrible, shes still pretty its just a very drastic change from how we're used to seeing her..We've never seen her with bangs before, ever! I think she looks better with out them, she looks more like Christina..You can't see her pretty blue eyes with those bangs in the way! Her eyes are one of her best features, their so blue! I liked her dress and her stage clothes. What did all of you think of the show? or the clothes? or Britney's sweep of awards?

It Girl Inspires Lingerie

Pinups come to mind in this category of It Girl. Almost every market or brand of lingerie is inspired by pinup. Betty page and Dita Von Teese are the most popular pinups Dita being the modern day comeback, and Betty Page being the originator. Who can blame us though! The pinup girls look the best! More than any other It Girl in lingerie does. Pinups carry that combination of class meshed with very sexy. My opinion is that no woman wants to be one or the other. We don't want to look too good, but we don't want to look raunchy either. Lingerie needs a balance of the two to look and make you feel good underneath your clothes. Nobody wants that ugly bright white bra, but we don't want the raunchy fishnet stockings either. One screams old lady the other screams sleep with me now.. (lol) Thats why there are only a few famous lingerie companies, its a challenge to design lingerie just perfect for a mix of good girl with a vixen twist. That is why lingerie designers turn to pinups. They look like nice girls but very sexy at the same time.

Sept.Means Back to School: "Chlorophyll more like Borophyll!"

I hate September! Its the saddest month of the year. You'd think that January or February would be the saddest, but I nominate September as the worst, because you watch the long days and beautiful weather die very slowly. Thats the sad part! No ones at the boardwalk or the beach, you can't even buy anymore summer clothes for yourself because theres not enough time to wear it. Finally school! Going back to school blows. All ya did was make $ and party all summer and it comes to an end for classes about chlorophyll, or trigonometry, just useless classes that nobody cares about! Lets hope that the fall and winter fly by so summer is back in no time.

Dear Diary...

We all need a diary! Sometimes you just have to write it down.. What ever it may be..We all have those times when there isn't anyone to tell, its a very personal matter, and putting it into a blog is a bit too public. Thats why we need diaries! Diaries can be a life saver or a mood saver. If your feeling really bad about something, nervous, excited, or angry, writing it down saves a lot of trouble later on when you get home not to flip out on family, or your pets..Diaries are the way to relieve your terrible, horrible, no good very bad day!...(Its been a busy weekend, so entries are a little short)

Job Rant: This Economy is Killing Me!

This economy is killing me! Why retail? Why fashion? Why the industry that I work in?!! It is so hard to land a job! Its not only that I'm fresh out of college..Thanks to the economy no one has any money for employees. Retail is taking the biggest hit from all this. I ask myself why retail???? Why now? When I need $$$ the most! I'm being forced to work in a mall job for 5 bucks an hour when I really should be part of cooperate America like the rest of the world, making something thousand a year..I've been very bitter latley, and down trodden. Its normal to feel that way. You feel like your employers think your too worthless to work for them. Thats how I feel! Am I supposed to be jumping for joy to be poor? and work for 5 dollars an hour? When I just got done graduating the best of the best of the best in Fashion School?? When I was in college I was so excited to get a real job.. Now its the most depressing journey of a lifetime. All the 35 year old sex and the city crowd is stealing my thunder! Sure I'm 21 years old but I'm not a stupid 21 year old! I bet I know more about the industry than the "experienced" 35 year old industry burnouts, that have been pushing papers for the past 10 years. Thats what these employers call experienced? Give me a break! If I put on my resume I had a job this summer holding the grand opening sign for Taco Bell on Rt. 17 they'd consider that to be experience and hire me. What is that?! I think a monkey has more of a chance of getting a job than a kid out of college. I hope Obama becomes president so that he can prove to the world that old people(30 -100)aren't the only group who can be in control of things. It'll be nice having a young dude running this country. Maybe someday the college crowd will be telling the old people,"Sorry not enough experience!"

It Girl Fashion Fun!: Heatherette

LA Fashion week is very cool. They have a whole different style than New York. We shouldn't push L.A. under the rug and forget about them. Instead of black, brown, and gray pant suits... and more gray pant suits like New York. L.A. designers put some color and sparkle into their look, and they experiment with swim wear, dresses, skirts, heels, platforms.. The fun stuff! I still like New York designers but occasionally you need a break from looking like cooperate America all the time! L.A.'s got that crispy warm weather, beaches, celebrities, and some wild style! Heatherette is pretty big over there. For their spring 08 show they featured one of their star clients as a runway model. Adult film star Jenna Jameson! lol Its pretty funny to see a racy actress modeling clothes down the runway. Now thats what I call thinking outside of the box! That's what I love about Heatherette..They take an ordinary idea and put a very unexpected twist on it..

It Girl On Rolling Stone

Anybody who's anybody always makes it on to the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine! If it features an It Girl there is always an outlandishly glamorous cover to expect..Sometimes a little shocking, but thats why their It Girls! The covers are rather stylish too, even though their a little sexually suggestive..The hair, the make up, the pose, and the props are all fabulous! I collect quite a few Rolling Stone Magazines.. I love the entertainment industry! Its so crazy..There's nothing else like it anywhere! There has been too many great trends that came out of Mtv..Its true! Music videos, crazy magazines, album covers, movies, TV shows, is what makes the world spin! Without all of this crazy media the world would be so blahh!! There'd be nothing fun to expect, watch,or read about. So keep on buying those magazines everybody and support the entertainers and It Girls!

The "Bad" It Girl: Plaid=Bad!

What can be more fun than to look bad in some plaid! Nothing is more of an It Girl classic than that sexy school girl plaid mini skirt ensemble. There are all different styles and variations of the bad school girl outfit. Then there are the bustiers in plaid that can look really fetishy with lacing up the front, or some vinyl trim.. Top that look off with some high black boots..Every time I see one of those plaid mini skirts I always want to buy one! But when I try one on in the store its too short! Nothing I could ever leave my house in ..(lol) I guess I'm just going to have to make one out of a really cute plaid thats a good length to wear out..Here are some fun plaid pieces that are for the most part wearable, and few that are crazy, enjoy! Travilla and His Special Client...

I simply had to know who designed Marilyn Monroe's clothes, because back in the golden age of Hollywood each costume designer was under contract to design all of the costumes for a certain star. Then I discovered him! William Travilla originally started out designing costumes for burlesque theater, and then worked his way up to Hollywood. When he got assigned to Ms. Monroe, she was still an unknown starlet. Travilla next to Edith Head is probably one of the luckiest costume designers who ever lived! He certainly made history..In a lot of Marilyn's dresses he put in built in bras so that she looked fabulous!, and boning as well. In the 7 year itch dress the bodice has heavy foundations in it, lots of padding and under wires to hold Marilyn up. lol, Without those foundations Marilyn had fit issues as you can probably imagine. (lol) In her " Happy Birthday Mr. President" Dress. She was literally sewn into that dress! How they pulled that one off I'll never know..Travilla and Marilyn were a design match made in heaven. The perfect dresses for the perfect woman to wear them..

It Girl How To: How to Properly Lace Up a Corset..

Step 1. Place the corset flat on a table. Start the lace from the inside. Slip it through the top eyelets of the corset. Pull the lace through so that the horizontal lace is on the inside of the corset. Make sure the two ends of the lace are even.

Step 2. Take the lace on the left side and cross it over to the right. Slip it into the eyelet. Make sure that the lace that crosses over forms a line that stays outside of the corset. Repeat this on the right lace. The secret is to form an "X" with the laces on the same side that the lace originated from.

Step 3. Now the laces are on the inside of the corset. Take the lace on the right side and cross it over to the left side. Pull the lace through the eyelet. Repeat on the left lace. This will form an "X" on the inside. The laces are on the outside now.

Step 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you reach the waistline of the corset. This is where the puller-loop is created. The puller-loop is the loop of lace that you pull on to draw in the corset. The puller-loop MUST be on the outside.

Step 5. Take the left lace and slip it through the next eyelet down on the left side. This creates a loop on the outside of the corset. The remaining lace should now be on the inside. Now for the right side, take the right lace and slip it through the next eyelet down on the right side. The remaining lace should be on the inside.

Step 6. Now slip the left lace through the next eyelet on the right side. . Take the right lace and cross it over to the left side. This will form an "X" on the inside of the corset. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you reach the bottom. Adjust the slack in the laces so that you have around four to five inches of slack between the two sides.

Step 7. Tie off the bottom lace like you would your shoe. See the "X's"? Notice that the corset is completely closed with no gaps between the sides. Now your corset laces are ready for tight lacing! Just make sure that there is about four to five inches of slack between the laces before you try it on to make it easier to get in.

Voila! your laced! (Steps are from waspcreations.com)

Remember Atomizer Bottles?

When you were a kid remember seeing these perfume bottles on cartoons? I've always wanted one when I was little! I was looking foward to getting one someday but theres none! Everything now is in a glass bottle and sprays. Blah! Wheres the fun in being a girl if ya can't have a cute atomizer bottle to play with?! I love the little pom pom at the end with the fringe.. Thats the best part of the bottle!! The bottle part is cute too, they come in all different shapes, sizes, and colors! The Victorians originally came up with this idea. They were geniuses! They came up with corsets, pipe curls, and atomizer perfume bottles!Make up can too be an accessory..Like these bottles.Buy one of the antique ones and put your favorite fragrance in it, treat your favorite fragrance like royalty. I know I'm getting one..These bottles are too good to pass up! Most of these bottles are antique atomizers.. You can find them on..yep, thats right! Ebay!! They are very good quality though, hardly junk.

"Scotch on the Rocks, and Don't be Stingy Baby"..It Girl Celebrates Greta Garbo

Greta Garbo is one of the most beautiful and talented It Girls that ever lived! She was gorgeous, a wonderful actress and truly an elegant lady. Just the way she carried herself, and the characters she played. She was never raunchy and in your face sexually..But she was still hot! That is truly an art form every woman should master. The art of being sexy without being super sexy. It was all in her personality, her charm, and the way she carried herself. She was the elegant and mysterious European woman.I think thats what made her sexy. The mystery, her European back round, and her quiet and elegant acting style. Don't get me wrong! Greta did have attitude also.. A very sophisticated attitude. Thats what made her sparkle! It wasn't the attitude of being a tough chick or the attitude of a Bad Girl..She was very sarcastic when it came to the arrogance of men. If she was talking to a man and they were being arrogant or a know it all she put them in their place! In closing Greta Garbo is.. The beautiful and elegant lady that shuts the men up lol, Let us remember her!

Gretas infamous drinking scene from "Anna Christie"
