IT GIRL STYLE GUIDE: RETRO SEXY! PUMPS & PENCIL SKIRTS

Hi Vixens,

 Today I'm going to talk about a classic retro look that's super sexy and is still being worn today. Its so hard to find a cute skirted look to wear to work or school that's not overly sexy.... Pencil skirts go with so many things! You can wear a pencil skirt with a fitted tank top, a suit jacket, sweater, or even with a strapless top for the evening or summer. Its a very timeless piece that hugs your curves and still gives you that touch of retro feel to your wardrobe.
    When you add a sexy pair of pumps to go with the fitted pencil skirt that's what makes the whole look  just sparkle! Pumps are probably my most favorite shoe in the world next to boots. Pumps have been around for a very long time! Pumps have been around since the 1700's I believe...                                                           Even if your going on an interview pumps and a pencil skirt would be just the right outfit to wear.  I was reading in an article that if your a woman your more likely to get hired if you wear a skirt than not wear a skirt for the interview.... I'm not sure if that's true but its always good to have different in sights when it comes to advice. Whats your favorite kind of skirt and shoes to wear? Is it a pencil skirt? a mini skirt? Fall 2011 Boots From the Victorias Secret Catalog! I'm so in Love!

 






I wish I never got the mail today!
Occasionally I'll get another Victorias Secret catalog every now and then in the mail , and usually I just throw them out because it clutters up my room... But today???? I fell in love!!!!!! These are some of  the cutest boots I've ever seen!!!!! I'm so in trouble now, because I know I'm going to buy like 3 or 4 pairs of boots from this magazine.... Usually VS doesn't have boots that are all that great... But this season??? Wow!! I forgot that we are in the middle of August soon to be entering the end of August.. In September, October, and November,those are the months all the hot boots start getting stocked up on the shelves! This is terrible.... I have such a weakness for boots...Check out these pix of the adorable boots from my issue of the Victorias Secret fall catalog.. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. I love these boots!!!!!

JEWELRY FROM ANCIENT EGYPT!

I have the new issue of National Geographic and who do I see on the cover but Cleopatra! It inspired me so much to tell you about this!!! She has so much jewelry! I was looking at a few pics of the Cleopatra jewels they featured in the magazine. She has a snake bracelet, and snake earrings!! I love it!!! Cleopatra has to be in my opinion one of the sexiest women who ever lived!! She had the best makeup, the best jewels, and captured the hearts of 2 of the most powerful men in Egypt!! I can't wait! I'm wearing Egyptian inspired jewelry from now on and thats it! Egyptian Jewelry is so mysterious and exotic isn't it?! What is it About Those Pointe Shoes??

I love the ballet! I go whenever I have the chance. My most favorite part about going is seeing the dancers dance in those Pointe Shoes. How do they do it?! It looks like their dancing on their tippy toes.(lol) Don't their feet hurt after a while? Don't they pull a muscle in their foot? Thats a skill I really admire, knowing how to dance ballet. There are so many stretches and movements that are extremely difficult. I started to learn how to dance ballet when I was 4 but I quit! I wish I didn't now.. Oh well, maybe in the next life. Designers have attempted to design a shoe based on the pointe shoe but I haven't seen any winners yet. Nothing compares to the real thing! Although I do wish I could wear Pointe shoes out every day!(lol) Hopefully someone will come up with a good Pointe Shoe design that is wearable. Thats a shoe that would be cool inspiration for a new look in shoes.

The Lingerie Palaces of L.A...Freddies of Hollywood & Trashy Land.

These are the two coolest lingerie stores ever!Their way more exciting than Victoria's Secret. Freddies and Trashy offer a wide selection of not only lingerie items but shoes, clothes,& costumes. Trashy's actually designs custom made outfits for the stars like Madonna and Christina Aguilera. Trashy Lingerie has a huge celebrity customer clientele too. Anna Nicole Smith shopped at Trashy and the Playboy bunnies shop there as well as Pamela Anderson, Winona Ryder, Elizabeth Berkley, Demi Moore, Brigette Nielson, Julia Roberts, Goldie Hawn, Sharon Stone,and Heather Locklear.The whole outside of The Trashy Lingerie store is painted pink! Thats why I love it! I want the whole outside of my store to be painted pink too someday. Fredericks of Hollywood is cool too. They have a great selection of corsets to choose from. The Corset on the left is from Trashy Lingerie as well as the shoe on top.

"These Boots Are Made for Walking"

These are just some crazy boots I found that I thought were interesting.I didn't know you could do so much with a boot! I think you could do more with a boot than with a heel. Boots are fun! My two or 3 most favorite pairs of shoes are converse sneakers, boots, and flip flops.They all have one thing in common.. comfort! When your walking to that bus and you see it whipping around the corner flip flops, boots, and kicks make it very convenient to run to that damn bus! With high heels you can't even run in them because you know you'll smash your face right into the pavement, or you have to take your heels off to run to the bus, and that sucks because then your feet bleed on the bus!Heels are good for occasions when you don't have to move around to much like a wedding, formal, cruising in a limo all day, awards show etc.. The Stars get driven around all day long so thats why they wear heels all the time. For those of us that have to walk down those huge avenues in N.Y.C. during rush hour,boots, kicks, or flip flops will do the trick! .. I want these boots SO BAD!

It Girls Jewelry Box: Art Nouveau Sparkles!

I was reading WWD today and I saw this article on Art Nouveau Jewelry, and I loved it! Remember Roses Dragon Fly Hair piece in Titanic?.. Thats a classic example of Art Nouveau. Art Nouveau also has a very particular look to it also. It's based on nature themes like lilies ,dragon flies , beetles , wasps etc. The period of Art Nouveau was from the late 1890's to around 1918 or so..maybe a little earlier than that.These Jewels are so pretty though! Finally someone decided to change the Jewelery scene around a little bit instead of everything being art deco. I've had enough of Art Deco, I've seen to many art deco rings, and they all look the same after a while. Now we'll get to see rings inspired by fire flies, lilies, beetles etc.
