IT GIRL STYLE GUIDE: RETRO SEXY! PUMPS & PENCIL SKIRTS

Hi Vixens,

 Today I'm going to talk about a classic retro look that's super sexy and is still being worn today. Its so hard to find a cute skirted look to wear to work or school that's not overly sexy.... Pencil skirts go with so many things! You can wear a pencil skirt with a fitted tank top, a suit jacket, sweater, or even with a strapless top for the evening or summer. Its a very timeless piece that hugs your curves and still gives you that touch of retro feel to your wardrobe.
    When you add a sexy pair of pumps to go with the fitted pencil skirt that's what makes the whole look  just sparkle! Pumps are probably my most favorite shoe in the world next to boots. Pumps have been around for a very long time! Pumps have been around since the 1700's I believe...                                                           Even if your going on an interview pumps and a pencil skirt would be just the right outfit to wear.  I was reading in an article that if your a woman your more likely to get hired if you wear a skirt than not wear a skirt for the interview.... I'm not sure if that's true but its always good to have different in sights when it comes to advice. Whats your favorite kind of skirt and shoes to wear? Is it a pencil skirt? a mini skirt? What is it About Those Pointe Shoes??

I love the ballet! I go whenever I have the chance. My most favorite part about going is seeing the dancers dance in those Pointe Shoes. How do they do it?! It looks like their dancing on their tippy toes.(lol) Don't their feet hurt after a while? Don't they pull a muscle in their foot? Thats a skill I really admire, knowing how to dance ballet. There are so many stretches and movements that are extremely difficult. I started to learn how to dance ballet when I was 4 but I quit! I wish I didn't now.. Oh well, maybe in the next life. Designers have attempted to design a shoe based on the pointe shoe but I haven't seen any winners yet. Nothing compares to the real thing! Although I do wish I could wear Pointe shoes out every day!(lol) Hopefully someone will come up with a good Pointe Shoe design that is wearable. Thats a shoe that would be cool inspiration for a new look in shoes.

The Lingerie Palaces of L.A...Freddies of Hollywood & Trashy Land.

These are the two coolest lingerie stores ever!Their way more exciting than Victoria's Secret. Freddies and Trashy offer a wide selection of not only lingerie items but shoes, clothes,& costumes. Trashy's actually designs custom made outfits for the stars like Madonna and Christina Aguilera. Trashy Lingerie has a huge celebrity customer clientele too. Anna Nicole Smith shopped at Trashy and the Playboy bunnies shop there as well as Pamela Anderson, Winona Ryder, Elizabeth Berkley, Demi Moore, Brigette Nielson, Julia Roberts, Goldie Hawn, Sharon Stone,and Heather Locklear.The whole outside of The Trashy Lingerie store is painted pink! Thats why I love it! I want the whole outside of my store to be painted pink too someday. Fredericks of Hollywood is cool too. They have a great selection of corsets to choose from. The Corset on the left is from Trashy Lingerie as well as the shoe on top.

Marilyn's Bare Essentials: All ya need is a pair of Delmans and a spritz of no.5...

She wore no other shoe but Delman! and no other perfume but Chanel no. 5. These are Marilyn's Bare Essentials.It's interesting because in a way we all have our personal style bare essentials. It could be your favorite shampoo, I-pod, drink, shoe, bra, stuffed animal.. whatever! I know my bare essentials that I can't live without are my flip flops and my fluffy pajama pants! lol
